Our teenage courses are designed to the same high standards as our adult courses, but with the syllabus tailored very much to the needs and interests of our younger learners. The focus is mainly on speaking and listening skills and vocabulary development, but grammatical accuracy is also a priority.

The coursework will include elements of CLIL – for example, local history and culture – and a focus on real-world learning, enabling students to speak with added confidence on a wide variety of topics relevant to the modern world. At all times, the emphasis is on the students’ active use of English, and developing conversational skills in particular.

Our experienced, well-qualified teachers are carefully chosen for their suitability to teach this age group and their enthusiasm for working with younger learners. Teaching materials provide plenty of variety and include coursebooks, worksheets, video and audio resources.

Lessons take place in a specially-designated building, separate to the main school. The rooms are bright, cheerful and well-equipped, with two common rooms where students can relax and socialise at break-times (and after afternoon classes and activities, if required). Facilities include table-football, board games and a TV/DVD player. There is also a large enclosed garden when the weather permits!

Our teenage courses are for groups of 14-16 year-olds*. Courses start any Monday throughout the year, for a minimum stay of 1 week.

Classes are limited to a maximum of 15 students. The maximum intake at (House 10) is 44 students, which ensures personal attention, good interaction between students and added security.

Please note that our standard syllabus is adaptable to your group’s specific needs wherever possible, and we will be happy to discuss any special requirements with you.

* In class, 13 year-olds are allowed, as long as they are in the same year group as 14 year-olds.
